We are now offering Neurographic Art Classes!
Neurographic Art is a therapeutic, abstract art form created by psychologist Pavel Piskarev in 2014. It combines art and psychology to reduce stress and foster mindfulness. It involves drawing spontaneous, flowing, neuron-like lines, rounding out all sharp intersections, and adding color to reframe thoughts, connect the conscious with the subconscious, and create a calming, meditative experience. Ok, ok, I know it sounds a bit “out there”, but there is actual, real science backing this process up. I myself have experienced incredible improvement in my mind and body as I’ve added
this art form to my daily routine.

Level 1 Classes:
Sign up today to reserve a space (seating is limited) in one of our introductory classes! No previous artistic experience is necessary. If you can hold a marker and use a paint brush, you can do it! These one hour classes teach the basic concepts of neurographic drawing. All materials and supplies are provided and you walk away with a finished piece of art that you've created and (if you really get into it) a stronger mind/body connection, causing a decrease in anxiety/stress. Bring a friend (or friends) to come on out to play, it's a lovely way to spend the afternoon!
Level 2 Classes:
Continue the fun with our 2nd level! These classes are also just one hour long and completing a Level 1 class is a prerequisite. Here, we will start to explore creating more complicated imagery and fancier line work.
If you are unable to join us on a scheduled class day, please reach out and use our Contact Request Form. There is a minimum of two participants needed to schedule a class at a time that works for you. We'd love to have you!
Closing thoughts about Neurographic Art....
The most important part of this art form is actually the process of creating it. Completing each step, in a specific order, is what stimulates change in our brains. Visually, the end result can be delightful or it can be strange, but the final image is really just a byproduct of the healing process itself. Students are encouraged to keep their art if it brings them joy. If it doesn’t though, then they’re free to throw it out or burn it in our little fire pit out back if they wish. That might seem extreme, but studies have shown that destroying something that you have created and are not happy with
has a whole different kind of healing benefit. Wooo Hooo!
